Soccer fans are among the most passionate sports fans on the planet which is why it makes sense that Manchester United fans became the first public audience to watch a live sports event broadcast in 3D.  That must have been pretty cool, especially since they beat Arsenal 3-1.

Soccer fans are among the most passionate sports fans on the planet which is why it makes sense that Manchester United fans became the first public audience to watch a live sports event broadcast in 3D.  That must have been pretty cool, especially since they beat Arsenal 3-1.

Nine pubs across Britain were fitted with the first 3D transmission by Sky Sports this past Sunday.  “People now feel they can now sit in their own homes and view things in a way they could only do if they came to the stadium themselves,” said Sky Sports director Darren Long.

One fan said that the special glasses were not a big problem, especially since the close-ups were great but the wide angle shots were less than stellar.
